Our long time neighbor and friend opened a restaurant, which had been her dream for years. Her primary focus was getting some menus created to really envelope the spirit and old-timey classic feel that Sherwood's would become known for. With this in mind, nothing screamed this more to me than the 50's - classic cars, pinup girls, greasers, the works. This eventually carried over to business card & application design.
